What happened
The Landlord applied for termination of the tenancy and eviction due to significant rent arrears. The Tenant, a professional athlete, did not dispute the arrears but cited financial difficulties following a $600.00 monthly rent increase and variable income. The Landlord agreed to an extended eviction date to allow the Tenant more time to find alternative housing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying the specified arrears ($24,586.00 by September 30 or $27,436.00 by October 31). If the Tenant does not void the order, they must vacate by October 31, 2025, and pay the Landlord $20,696.86 plus daily compensation of $93.70 from September 16, 2025, until they move out.
