What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant, and for an order for the tenant to pay the rent they owe because the tenant did not meet a condition specified in the order issued by the LTB on May 18, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective July 9, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $16,137.82 plus $66.50 per day for compensation for the use of the unit starting June 29, 2023, to the date the tenant moves out. If the tenant does not pay the full amount owing by July 9, 2023, the tenant will start to owe interest at 6.00% annually on the balance outstanding.
