What happened

The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants due to significant rent arrears. Tenant 1 claimed she had moved out previously, but the Board found her jointly and severally liable as she did not provide valid notice to terminate the joint tenancy. Tenant 2, who remains in the unit, requested a delay in eviction due to medical conditions and financial hardship.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective November 30, 2025, unless the Tenants pay $15,284.52 to void the order. If they do not pay, they must vacate by November 30, 2025. Tenant 1 and Tenant 2 are jointly ordered to pay the Landlord $11,701.69 for arrears and costs, plus $42.06 daily compensation until they move out.
