What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to non-payment of rent and substantial interference. The Tenants vacated the rental unit on July 2, 2022, prior to the hearing date.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlords and the Tenants is terminated as of July 2, 2022, the date the Tenants moved out of the rental unit. The Tenants shall pay the Landlords $11,853.24, which includes rent arrears up to the move-out date and the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 31, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
