What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant committing an illegal act and seriously impairing the safety of another resident in the building. The Tenant was alleged to have attacked another resident with a knife, causing a minor injury to the victim's cheek.
The ruling
The Landlord's application is granted. The tenancy is terminated effective March 31, 2024. The Tenant must vacate the unit by this date. If the unit is not vacated, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $1,588.95, which includes $1,402.95 in daily compensation and $186 in application fees. If the amount is not paid by March 31, 2024, the Tenant will owe interest at 7% annually on any outstanding balance.
