What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to Tenant substantially interfering with the reasonable enjoyment of others and seriously impairing the safety of others in the residential complex. The Tenant's unit was in a poor state of cleanliness, creating fire and safety hazards.

The ruling

The tenancy continues if the Tenant restores the rental unit to a safe, clean and reasonable living condition by March 31, 2023. The Landlord may apply to terminate the tenancy if the Tenant fails to comply with the conditions. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $186.00 for the cost of filing the application.
