What happened
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant, another occupant, or someone the tenant permitted seriously impairing the safety of any person and wilfully causing undue damage to the premises.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective January 22, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $33,316.70, which includes compensation for use and occupation of the unit, repair costs for damage, and the application filing fee. If the tenant does not pay the full amount by January 22, 2023, they will owe interest at 5% annually on the outstanding balance.
