What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Tenant failed to meet a condition specified in the order issued by the Board on June 29, 2023 with respect to application LTB-L-033447-22. The Tenant was intoxicated and left the stove on in the rental unit, resulting in a fire that required EMS services.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before October 31, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) to enforce the eviction starting November 1, 2023.
