What happened
The Landlords applied to evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. At the hearing, the Tenant requested an adjournment, stating she needed more time to gather evidence. The adjudicator found her reasons to be elusive and inconsistent, and denied the request. The Tenant then left the videoconference hearing and did not return. The hearing proceeded uncontested, resulting in an order to terminate the tenancy unless the arrears were paid.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $10,786.00 by May 31, 2025, or $13,436.00 by June 9, 2025. If the order is not voided, the Tenant must vacate by June 9, 2025, and pay the Landlord $7,716.27 plus daily compensation of $87.12 from May 27, 2025. Relief from eviction was denied.
