What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant did not attend the hearing, but had previously proposed to vacate the unit on July 2, 2023 without paying any rent. The Landlord did not agree to this proposal.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $4,330 by May 19, 2023 to void the order and continue the tenancy. If the Tenant does not pay, they must vacate the unit by May 19, 2023 and pay the Landlord $3,753.81 plus daily compensation of $17.03 per day starting April 28, 2023.
