What happened
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and the Tenant is terminated. The Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before July 1, 2024. The Landlord shall compensate the Tenant $2,000.00 (one month's rent) on or before June 14, 2024. The Tenant shall return cheque #000037 dated October 31, 2023, to the Landlord when the Landlord drops off the cheque. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord compensation of $65.75 per day for the use of the unit starting July 2, 2024, until the date the Tenant moves out of the unit. If the unit is not vacated on or before July 1, 2024, then starting July 2, 2024, the Landlord may file this order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) so that the eviction may be enforced. If the Landlord does not pay the Tenant the full amount owing on or before June 14, 2024, the Tenant will start to owe interest.
