What happened

The Landlord applied for termination and eviction because the rental unit was used for superintendent's premises and the Tenant's employment had ended, and because of non-payment of rent. By the time of the hearing, the Tenant had already vacated the unit. The parties agreed on the total amount of arrears and costs. The core dispute at the hearing involved the Tenant's proposed monthly repayment plan, which the Landlord opposed due to its length.

The ruling

The tenancy was terminated effective March 3, 2025. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $4,895.95 for rent arrears and application costs. Payments are to be made in installments of $150.00 per month starting November 30, 2025. Failure to meet the payment schedule will result in the full balance becoming due immediately with interest accruing at 4.00% annually.
