What happened

The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. The Tenant was absent from the hearing. Prior to the hearing, the Tenant paid all outstanding rent arrears and a portion of the Landlord's application fee, leaving a small balance.

The ruling

The tenancy is not terminated. The Board granted the Tenant relief from eviction because all rent arrears were paid before the hearing. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord the remaining balance of the application fee, totaling $129.33, by April 30, 2025. If the amount is not paid by the due date, interest will accrue at 5.00% annually.
