What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on October 31, 2022 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from April 1, 2022 to October 31, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $4,880.65, which includes rent arrears up to October 31, 2022 and the cost of filing the application, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by May 5, 2023, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 6.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
