What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlord testified that the upper unit of the home is crowded and he requires the lower unit for the purpose of his or his son's residential occupation.

The ruling

The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated as of September 30, 2022, and the Tenant must move out of the rental unit on or before August 15, 2023. The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $2,978.88, which includes the cost of filing the application, minus the rent deposit and interest on the deposit.
