What happened
The Tenant filed an application alleging the Landlord failed to fulfill maintenance obligations as required by the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006. The parties reached a mutual agreement through mediation on the scheduled hearing date and requested a consent order from the Landlord and Tenant Board.
The ruling
By consent of both parties, the Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $1,500.00 on or before April 18, 2025. Should the payment not be made by the due date, simple interest as calculated under the Courts of Justice Act will apply to the outstanding balance starting from April 19, 2025.
