What happened
The landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants because the landlords in good faith require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The landlords currently reside in a property they own but are retiring and plan to downsize, hence their desire to move into the rental unit.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the tenants must vacate the rental unit by April 24, 2023. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the landlords may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement. The tenants shall pay the landlords $60.82 per day for use of the unit starting April 25, 2023 until they move out. The last month's rent deposit and interest shall be applied to the last month of the tenancy.
