What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring Tenant to pay the rent that the Tenant owes. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on December 31, 2022 and did not pay the total rent they were required to pay for the period from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $1,736.10, which includes rent arrears owing up to December 31, 2022 and the cost of the application, less the rent deposit and interest on the deposit. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by July 8, 2023, the Tenant will start to owe interest at 6.00% annually on the outstanding balance.
