What happened
The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant from a superintendent's unit because the Tenant's employment as superintendent had ended. The Tenant resigned from his position on January 6, 2025, but failed to vacate the premises. The Landlord also sought compensation for the period the Tenant continued to occupy the unit. The Tenant did not attend the scheduled hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out of the rental unit by June 23, 2025. The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord $10,834.32 for compensation and the application fee. Additionally, the Tenant must pay $75.52 for each day they remain in the unit after June 3, 2025. If the total amount is not paid by June 23, 2025, interest will accrue at 5.00% annually.
