What happened

The Tenant filed a T2 application with numerous allegations against the Landlord, including substantial interference and harassment. The allegations covered a wide range of issues: removal of gardening services, unsafe stairs, bad faith N5 notices, privacy concerns with thermostats and monitoring systems, changes in kitchen and PSW services, an alleged illegal rent increase, an unauthorized bank withdrawal, issues with the complaint process, and harassment related to CCTV cameras and the Tenant's dog.

The ruling

The Tenant's application, which included 11 allegations of substantial interference and harassment, was dismissed. The Board found that while the cancellation of kitchen services did constitute substantial interference, the Landlord had already provided an adequate remedy by reducing the Tenant's monthly rent by $113.00. All other claims, including those related to gardening, unsafe stairs, N5 notices, privacy concerns, PSW staffing, an illegal rent increase, and harassment concerning the Tenant's dog, were dismissed for lack of evidence, being reasonable actions by the Landlord, or falling outside the LTB's jurisdiction (in the case of the RGI rent increase).
