What happened
The tenant applied for an order because the landlord: (a) did not return the unused portion of the tenant's rent deposit; (b) did not pay interest owing on the tenant's rent deposit; and (c) did not provide the compensation to which the tenant was entitled under section 48.1 of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
The ruling
The landlord must pay the tenant $1,425 (half of the rent deposit), $2,850 (one month's rent compensation under section 48.1), and the $53 filing fee, for a total of $4,328.
