What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant had been paying her portion of the rent to her former co-tenant, Alfred Power, who was not submitting the full rent to the Landlord. The Tenant stated she could not afford the rent.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenant pays $13,834 by June 30, 2023 or $15,366 by July 11, 2023 to void the order. If the Tenant does not void the order, they must vacate the unit by July 11, 2023 and pay the Landlord $11,055.75 plus daily compensation of $50.37 from June 7, 2023 until move-out.
