What happened

The Landlord applied to evict the Tenants for non-payment of rent. The Tenants acknowledged the debt and requested a payment plan to preserve their tenancy. Despite the Landlord's preference for a standard voidable order, the Board found the Tenants' proposal for a 7-month payment plan reasonable and granted a conditional order allowing the tenancy to continue.

The ruling

The tenancy is to continue on the condition that the Tenants pay the Landlord the outstanding arrears and costs totaling $6,830.91. This amount is to be paid in installments over a 7-month period, starting May 8, 2025. Additionally, the Tenants must pay their regular monthly rent on time and in full. If the Tenants default on any payment, the Landlord can apply to the LTB for an eviction order without further notice.
