What happened

The Landlords applied for termination of tenancy and eviction due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant requested an adjournment, claiming she mis-diarized the hearing date, but this was denied because the Tenant had failed to comply with a previous interim order to pay ongoing rent. The arrears were substantial and uncontested, and the Tenant indicated she lacked the finances to move despite wanting to do so.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective December 14, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $27,221.10. If the Tenant does not void the order, she is ordered to pay the Landlord $20,632.86 for arrears and filing costs, plus daily compensation of $98.76 from November 8, 2025, until she moves out.
