What happened
The Landlords applied for termination of the tenancy and eviction due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant admitted to the arrears and requested a move-out date of June 15, 2025. By the time the order was issued on August 1, 2025, the requested date had passed. The Tenant remained in possession as of the hearing date and had made no payments since the application was filed.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective August 12, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $12,786.00. If the Tenant does not pay to void the order, they must vacate by August 12, 2025, and pay the Landlords $5,662.81, which accounts for arrears up to the hearing date plus the filing fee, minus the rent deposit and interest. Daily compensation of $59.18 applies for each day the Tenant remains after the hearing date.
