What happened

The Landlord applied to evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent. The Tenant had fallen behind due to a gap in employment but had recently started a new job. The Tenant attended the hearing and explained his financial situation. The Board decided not to evict the Tenant, instead granting relief from eviction on the condition that the Tenant follows a payment plan to pay off the arrears while also paying his current rent on time.

The ruling

The Tenant is ordered to pay the Landlord a total of $4,946.33 for rent arrears and costs. This amount is to be paid through a structured payment plan, starting with a $500.00 payment on June 20, 2025, and continuing monthly until March 20, 2026. The Tenant must also pay his ongoing rent in full and on time. If the Tenant misses any payment, the Landlord can apply to the Board for an order to evict the Tenant without a further hearing.
