What happened
The Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because the Tenants did not pay the rent owing. The Tenants failed to attend the hearing and had not made any payments since the application was filed, leading to an accumulation of rent arrears.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective September 7, 2025. The Tenants must pay $3,336.42 to the Landlord by that date to cover arrears up to the hearing date and filing fees, after deducting the rent deposit and interest. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount to void the order, they must vacate. Daily compensation of $39.02 applies for each day of continued occupation after August 20, 2025.
