What happened
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants because the Landlords in good faith require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year by their son. The Tenants did not attend the hearing.
The ruling
The Landlords' application to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants is granted. The Tenants must vacate the rental unit on or before September 28, 2024. The Tenants owe the Landlords $10,164.09, which includes compensation for use of the unit from April 1, 2024 to the date the Tenants vacate, less the rent deposit and interest.
