What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to substantial interference and damages to the rental unit. The Landlords claimed the Tenant, another occupant, or someone the Tenant permitted caused damage to the bedroom door, fireplace, and hardwood floors, and altered the locking system without the Landlords' consent.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlords $2,100 for the costs to repair the fireplace and replace the locks, as well as $186 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by December 3, 2023, the Tenant will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
