What happened

The Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenants for non-payment of rent. One of the Tenants attended the hearing and requested an extension to find new housing. The Board found the arrears to be substantial and determined that the tenancy was not viable based on the Tenants' financial situation. The Board denied the Tenant's request for relief from eviction.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated unless the Tenants void the order by paying $14,157.00 by May 31, 2025, or $16,490.00 by June 9, 2025. If they fail to pay, they must move out by June 9, 2025. If the tenancy terminates, the Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlords $13,818.20 for arrears and application fees, plus $76.70 per day for compensation from May 27, 2025, until they vacate.
