What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet the conditions of a previous order, which required the Tenant to pay rent arrears and current rent on time.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective March 9, 2024. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. If the Tenant does not vacate, the Landlord can file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $2,670.18 in arrears and costs, plus $69.04 per day in compensation starting February 16, 2024 until the Tenant moves out. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by March 9, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% annually on the outstanding balance.
