What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Unauthorized Occupant because the Tenant transferred occupancy of the rental unit to the Unauthorized Occupant without the Landlord's consent, and because the Tenant abandoned the rental unit.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated. The Unauthorized Occupant must move out by June 21, 2024 and pay the Landlord $31,237.25 in compensation for use of the unit from November 17, 2021 to the hearing date, plus $33.77 per day from May 30, 2024 until they move out, and $201 for the application filing fee. If the Unauthorized Occupant does not pay the full amount by June 21, 2024, they will owe interest at 7% on the outstanding balance.
