What happened

The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant because the tenant did not meet a condition specified in a previous order issued by the LTB on November 2, 2022. The tenant failed to pay $325 towards rent arrears by the due date of April 20, 2023.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective June 20, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $1,227.40 (less any payments made after May 16, 2023) for rent arrears up to June 9, 2023 and the cost of the previous application. The tenant must also pay the landlord $28.60 per day for compensation for use of the unit starting June 10, 2023 until the tenant moves out.
