What happened
The Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to significant rent arrears. The parties attended a hearing and reached a consent agreement regarding the repayment of arrears and a conditional termination of the tenancy. The Tenant had not made any payments since the application was filed, resulting in arrears exceeding $8,000.00.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective October 31, 2025, unless the Tenant voids the order by paying $8,986.00 by September 30, 2025, or $11,186.00 by October 31, 2025. If the Tenant fails to void the order and does not vacate, the Landlords may file with the Sheriff for eviction starting November 1, 2025. If terminated, the Tenant must pay the Landlords $5,152.74, plus daily compensation of $72.33 until they move out.
