What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the tenants did not void by paying the arrears. The tenants were still in possession of the rental unit at the time of the hearing.
The ruling
The tenancy will be terminated on May 15, 2023 unless the tenants pay $1,273.83 by April 30, 2023 or $2,547.65 by May 15, 2023 to void the order. If the unit is not vacated by May 15, 2023, the landlord may file the order with the Sheriff for enforcement. The landlord is entitled to daily compensation for the tenant's continued occupation of the unit starting April 13, 2023.
