What happened

Landlord applied for an order requiring the Former Tenant to pay the Landlord's reasonable out-of-pocket costs that are the result of the Former Tenant's failure to pay utility costs they were required to pay under the terms of the tenancy agreement, and to pay the Landlord's reasonable out-of-pocket costs to repair or replace undue damage to the property caused wilfully or negligently by the Former Tenant.

The ruling

The Landlord proved the Former Tenant owes $773.23 for unpaid utility costs and $5,059.73 for damage and costs, for a total of $6,019.96. The Former Tenant is ordered to pay this amount by June 21, 2024, after which interest will accrue.
