What happened

Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Tenants claimed they paid the September 2024 rent to a new email address provided by the Landlords, but the Landlords denied receiving the payment.

The ruling

The Landlords' application is granted. The tenancy will be terminated unless the Tenants pay the outstanding rent of $7,786 by February 12, 2025 or $9,686 by February 18, 2025. If the Tenants do not void the order, they must move out by February 18, 2025 and pay the Landlords $6,434.94 plus daily compensation of $62.47 until they vacate.
