What happened

The Landlord originally applied for eviction based on safety concerns, willful damage, and persistent late rent payments. A previous order (LTB-L-062377-24) was issued but contained a significant error regarding daily compensation, requiring the Tenants to pay over $14,000 despite both parties agreeing the actual arrears were under $400. The Tenants requested a review to correct this financial calculation and to update the move-out status.

The ruling

The LTB granted the review in part, finding a serious error in the calculation of daily compensation in the previous order. The original order for over $14,000 was canceled and replaced. The Tenants are now ordered to pay a total of $558.50, which includes $372.50 in arrears and the $186.00 application fee, after accounting for the rent deposit and interest. The tenancy remains terminated.
