What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent and the Landlord's good faith requirement of the rental unit for personal use for at least one year. The Tenant did not attend the hearing.

The ruling

The tenancy is terminated effective May 4, 2024. The Tenant must vacate the unit by that date. If the Tenant does not vacate, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $5,610.75, which includes compensation for use of the unit, application filing fees, and interest if the amount is not paid by May 4, 2024.
