What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant because the Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The Tenant was not present at the hearing.
The ruling
The Landlord in good faith requires possession of the rental unit for the purpose of his own residential occupation. The tenancy is terminated, and the Tenant must move out by June 30, 2024. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office for enforcement. The Tenant must pay the Landlord compensation for use of the unit from February 1, 2024 until the Tenant moves out.
