What happened

Tenants applied for an order determining that the Landlord gave a notice of termination in bad faith. The Landlord served an N13 notice to convert the rental unit into a bunkhouse for seasonal farm workers, but the Tenants alleged the Landlord did not genuinely intend to do so and instead wanted the Tenants to vacate the unit.

The ruling

The Landlord must pay the Tenants $4,967.32, which includes $4,144.32 for out-of-pocket moving expenses and $500 in general compensation, as the Landlord acted in bad faith when serving the N13 notice.
