What happened
The Landlord, a limited partnership, filed to evict the Tenants for non-payment of rent. The Tenants did not attend the hearing. Despite their absence, the Board noted that the Tenants had been making regular payments and the arrears were not substantial. The Landlord's representative was agreeable to granting the Tenants more time. The Board issued a conditional order, allowing the Tenants to avoid eviction by paying the outstanding amount.
The ruling
The tenancy is conditionally terminated. The Tenants can void the order and continue the tenancy by paying the Landlord $3,205.33 on or before June 30, 2025. If they fail to pay, they must move out by June 30, 2025, after which the Landlord can file for eviction. If the tenancy is terminated, the Landlord owes the Tenants $2,112.66, less daily compensation of $85.27 for each day the unit is occupied after May 29, 2025.
