What happened

The Landlord applied for termination and eviction based on non-payment of rent. An order was issued in July 2025. The Tenant requested a review of that order, claiming they missed the original hearing because they were sprayed by a skunk in a conservation area early in the morning, had to walk home, and subsequently fell asleep from exhaustion just before the hearing began.

The Board found the Tenant's explanation for missing the previous hearing—being sprayed by a skunk and falling asleep—was not credible due to a lack of evidence. The stay of the original order is lifted immediately, confirming the eviction and any associated payment orders.
