What happened

Landlords applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlords in good faith require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation for at least one year. The Landlords also claimed compensation for each day the Tenant remained in the unit after the termination date.

The ruling

The Landlords' application is dismissed. The evidence is insufficient to establish the Landlords' intent to occupy the rental unit for at least one year. The Tenant has lived in the unit for 21 years and pays below-market rent, so it would not be unfair to grant relief from eviction.
