What happened

The Landlord applied for an order requiring the Former Tenants to pay outstanding water utility costs. The Tenants had vacated the property in November 2023. The Landlord provided evidence of unpaid water bills from the City of Barrie which she had to pay out-of-pocket. One Tenant attended the hearing and acknowledged the responsibility for utilities but attempted to raise unrelated issues regarding other utility bills.

The Former Tenants are ordered to pay the Landlord a total of $946.96. This amount consists of $745.96 for unpaid water utility expenses and $201.00 for the LTB filing fee. Payment is due by September 13, 2025, after which interest will accrue at a rate of 4.00% annually.
