What happened
The Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to persistent late payment of rent. The Landlord testified that out of seven months of tenancy, the Tenant paid rent late six times, including four consecutive months where no rent was paid at all. The Tenant did not attend the hearing to provide evidence or seek relief from eviction.
The ruling
The tenancy is terminated effective November 18, 2025. The Tenant is ordered to vacate by this date and pay the Landlord $186.00 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant remains in the unit past the termination date, they must pay daily compensation of $47.97. Interest at a rate of 4.00% per annum will apply to any unpaid balance starting November 19, 2025.
