What happened

The Landlord applied for the termination of tenancy and eviction of the Tenant due to substantial rent arrears. During the videoconference hearing, the parties reached a mutual agreement regarding the lawful rent and a structured payment plan to settle the outstanding debt of over $21,000.

The ruling

On consent of both parties, the Tenant is ordered to pay $21,486.00 in arrears and costs according to a set schedule. Failure to meet any payment deadline allows the Landlord to apply for an eviction order without further notice to the Tenant under Section 78 of the Residential Tenancies Act.
