What happened

The Landlord applied for an order requiring the Tenant to pay significant rent arrears. The Tenant had vacated the rental unit prior to the hearing but was in possession when the application was filed. The dispute centered on the Tenant's claim that his mother had paid a large portion of the arrears in cash, which the Landlord denied and for which the Tenant had no receipts.
