What happened
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy of Tenant, for transferring occupancy of the rental unit to unknown occupants and for compensation for the use of the rental unit. The Tenant transferred the occupancy of the rental unit to unknown persons in a manner that was not authorized by the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006.
The ruling
The tenancy between the Landlord and Tenant is terminated as of February 27, 2021. The Unauthorized Occupants must vacate the rental unit by February 1, 2022. The Tenant must pay the Landlord $201 for the application filing cost and the full amount owing by February 11, 2022. If the Tenant does not pay by the due date, they will owe interest at 2% on the outstanding balance.
