What happened

Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The Tenant vacated the rental unit on June 17, 2021, prior to the hearing date.

The ruling

The Tenant shall pay the Landlord $10,244.79, which represents the rent arrears up to the date the Tenant vacated the unit, less the rent deposit and interest. The Tenant shall also pay the Landlord $186.00 for the application filing fee. If the Tenant does not pay the full amount by October 1, 2021, the Tenant will owe interest at 2% annually on the outstanding balance.
